First Book Out as a Recruit

Recall the first few days of basic military training, days were hard. all you think about everyday is "how many more days to booking out.. 1st book out was the happiest thing. but that weekend seems to be the shortest weekend you ever had in your life. but still weekends are the times where you treasure the most then.

Borong isn't that lucky. the day after book out, he was down with fever and medication from the gp didn't help, on sunday, he had to go to the a&e department because he was unable to book in and as usual.. saf will tell you that mc from a gp is not a valid excuse.. but he didn't expect to be admitted just because of fever and sore throat, he was a suspected case of early dengue!
So me cruz and zhentao decided to pay a visit to him, and we got him some friuts.. i was to eager to see him that i actually left my camera in the car.. so photos are from my nokia 6230, really cannot stand this low quality photos.. but i managed to catch a shot of his happy face when he see us.. hhmm or isit when he see's the grass jelly that we got for him..You can see more and read more at cruz's blog. Oh something interesting, .. the following conversation was in mandarin.

Male nurse came over to borong with a ear thermometer and took his temperature.
Borong: what's my temperature?
Nurse: 38 (which happen to have a similay meaning to kaypoh in chinese)

haha .. so was his temperature 38 degree or was the nurse tell him him that he shouldn'e be so san ba.. what a good laugh...

Let's hope that it's a false alarm about dengue and that he will get well soon.. he's afriad that by missing too much of bmt, he will get out of course.. For those of you who want to visit him, you can get the info from me..

Cruz and me went for dinner after that while zhentao went gym for his body combat class.. we had dinner at pepper lunch in novena square.. or they call it velocity now... wanted to take a photo of cruz cos he seldom appear my my blog, but he rejected a normal shot cos he claimed that he's very tired and dun look good enuff for public viewing... in the end i got this and i loved this shot.you could still see the smile and the small eyes. although most of the face is covered, but you still see his expression, very natural, loved it....

Charity Golf Part 2

In the evening, it was a full course dinner for the golfers and other doners, to wrap up the event. No spectacular photos from the dinner itself, only lots of shots of the vip, the big shots, and the winners for the lucky draw and the tournament, so this time i'll be showcasing little miss snooze!!
After i saw this photo, i was a little shocked, cos she looked so young, can pass as a jc girl, less the handbag in the background. if i didn't remember wrongly, this was a candid shot, snapped on her when she turned around to my side. nice photo, but my fave is not this, there's one more to come..
A band was invited to play for the event, and they were really entertaining! made me recall those good old days where we were playing in the school bands, and performed at events to entertain the guest. they played quite a number of pieces, mostly familiar tunes from some time ago, haha, retro hits!! slow and fast ones.
Lil miss snooze was so mesmerised by the band. all the tunes she liked, one after another made she forgotten about the dinner totally. and yes this is my favourite photo from the dinner, i dun think she knew i took this photo, she's already drifting away with the music.
Gotta post one of andrea de cruz, she volunteered to be the host for the event, wow!! i was still asking leon how much she charges for hosting an event like that, i was shocked when he told me she's doing it for free. and i think we all agreed that she did a wonderful job. and i realised that all celebrity look very much slimmer in person, i couldn't recognise her when i first saw her at the dinner, she was so small sized! ..
Finally, an interesting photo. lil miss snooze using an slr camera. with this photo, we all can see that if you are small in size, you should stick to the compact cameras, because if you use an slr, no one can see the photographer!! ... and this photo didn't feature the railway tracks!!

The Story of Annabel Chong

Ripple is involved in the production of a new show called 251. it's a story about annabel chong, i guess many of us would have heard about this big name. this time round, ripple is still the set designer.. the show will be shown at the esplanade theatre in march, so be ready to go grab the tickets and or see the set design by ripple and also enjoy the show!.here's the poster.

First of the Lot to be 30

Met up with mingbao, bingwei, meili, jiemin and jiehong to celebrate jiehong's 30th birthday last sunday at ubin seafood at sixth avenue, it wasn't the actual day but we decided to celebrate on that day cos the actualy day is on a weekday and everyone gotta work!! Food there wasn't really fantastic, but we spent quite some time eating because of the crabs.. the crabs were not bad though.. we ordered chilli crabs and garlic pepper crabs, caught a shot of jiemin and dun you think this photo makes you really feel that the crabs are really good? she can't wait to put the next piece of freshly deshelled crab meat into her mouth.
We had a good time chatting, laughing while eating the crabs. yes we ordered quite a lot of the crabs..
One by one, we started to get full and while waiting for the rest, everyone started to find something to do to entertain themselves, bingwei and mingbao started to play games on the handphone, jiemin and meili posing for the camera while jiehong was still busy clearing up the last bits of the crabs...
Bingwei was so insistent that he wanted to break meili's high score on her handphone!! .. haha nearly got boxed by her!!
Finally, dinner was over, next was a mahjong session at jiehong and mingbao's place!! oh.. they have got new chips!! and this set of chips is really the grad a kind of chips!!.. i was so happy with the chips that bangzhi gave me cos they looks better than my previous ones... now look at what they have!!New chips and new rules, this year all of us are going into our 30s, so gotta implement new rules, decided to play mahjong with the "who throw who bao" rule.. supser stressful, careless mistakes are become very costly, but it was fun...
At some point in time, we brought out the surprise cake for jiehong's birthday.. wah .. 3 large candles, jialat, all of us will be going through this very soon!!!
jiehong always had to be the first to experience it since hers is so early in the year. so we chop chop sing song, then chop chop make wish, chop chop blow candle, chop chop cut cake, chop chop eat cake ... cos mahjong had to go on, everyone had to work the next day, but we still played till 2 plus in the morning. We are really mahjong addicts!!

An Evening at Holland Village

Goldie will be off to hk till next year, so ripple suggested a gathering before she flies off, we met at holland village for dinner at essential brews, i never know why they call themselves that name until i saw the menu, everything has got an element of tea in them, even the rice smells and taste of tea... It was an evening where ripple was busy helping goldie with her make up cos she was going clubbing after dinner while the rest of us are reminiscing on events happening in the past year... or more like gossiping about people and things that happened...
Here's goldie after the make up was done.. any comments? i did try to use photoshop to improve the photo a little... i think it will be better if she had powdered her face and add some rouge on her cheeks .. but after i tuned the photo, it does seemed as if her face was powdered ...

Anyway, didn't have many nice photos for this gathering, but there's still 1 that i like. my favourite photo for the dayI held the camera in position for very long before i could catch an expression like that... i just love candid shots...

Oh.. and ripple tried hard and finally persuaded goldie to allow me to post a picture that was taken quite some time ago. it all started when jon kissed terry, so ripple kissed goldie on her bd, and when ripple saw sumitra kissing kianhong, she couldn't stand it because she just had to be better then the rest. So i was asked to post this.... any comments? (artistic director: js)

J2 Back from Phuket

Jt and jl came back from their holiday at phuket. surprisingly they dun look any more tanned than when they left, still quite fair ... did it rain in phuket as it did in singapore? gotta ask them.... anyway, after meeting them at the airport, we decided to go to the new ikea at tampines!!It was really a huge place, imagine shopping in a large warehouse, even the restaurant was so much bigger than the one in alexandra. it was wed noon at such an unaccessible place, and the restaurant is still filled with people, it took a while before we found seats for ourselves...
I got a free meal again.. haha... this ikea provides small trolleys where you can place 3 trays of food, solves the problem of having to take multiply trips from the food counter because the plates are so big that you cannot squeeze 2 on a single tray.

The 2 of them actually went shopping for lots of shirts... tailor made, according to them it's very worth it to tailor make clothes from there ... and js actually ask them to help him get a few!!! here he is with his new shirts!Here's a photo of jt posted to compensate for the badly shot photo that i posted in a previous post. i guess this photo has met your requirement of no fat cheeks, no dark eye circles and no cock eye!! ... nice?

Wedding: BK & SY (Part 2)

10 mins drive to the bride's place, bridal car was greeted by siying's very cute nephew!!
Brothers were all prepared for the sabos by the sisters, but we didn't expect the session to be so draggy
It's so bad that the groom had to find a stool to sit down for a break, btw, he's holding some funny concoction by them, i think it was lime juice + vinegar... yucks!! luckily zhenhong finished so much of it that there was nothing left for me.

Wedding: BK & SY (Part 1)

Filming in New Zealand

Bangzhi left for new zealand last night for his filming assignment!! Not bad right? just a small role and they bought him 2 tickets to new zealand for the shoot, can go there and tour summore ... FREE!! ...
Didn't get to eat popeyes the last time i was at the airport because the buttermilk buscuit was sold out, so this time round gotta make sure i get to eat it!! ... the buttermilk buscuit is still as nice. how come they only have it at the airport .. hai...

He flew on emirates for this trip, i've never tried this airline before, but i heard that it's quite good, will know it when he comes back. Oh yar ... look at the photo above, dun you think it just looks familiar, like some starhub advert sometime ago. later kena sued for copyright..
Me and bangjie were not the only people who were there early, his fans were there too!!! they gave him some presents (tidbits for him to eat on the plane) and some hand written notes... aww... so sweet ..

But this group of fans are not sporting when it comes to taking photos, they keep running away from my camera, maybe my camera looked too intimidating to them, like the paparazzi... haha
