Ah Gong's New Home

It has been nearly 100 days since my ah gong passed away. the tombstone has been erected and it's the first time i got to visit this new home for ah gong at the lim chu kang cemetry.
We went there for a prayer ceremony for 100 days and realised that it was a little cramp there, no choice since singapore has got limited land. but luckily we got the unit at the side. just like the side unit of a row of terrace houses. so there was some space at the side for us. there was also large trees by the road giving shade to the tomb. talking about improving technology, look at my ah gong's photo on the tombstone.. it was photoshopped!! he's wearing a jacket with a tie, he has never wore something like that before, it was edited ... he looks smart in that i must say.

Meili Do Us Proud

Meili has left singapore to seek for more knowledge in brisbane, although it might only be 8 months, life will not be the same without her...We will all miss you meili!! all the best for your studies and we will be waiting for you to come back with your good results!! .. do us proud!!

Supper at Void Deck Again

As i was about to leave home, i was quite affected or rathered disturbed by some personal issues that i actually forgotten to bring my camera out! i wonder when was the last time my camera wasn't by my side. so photos for this posting was taken from the mediocre camera on my handphone.

Anyway, condolences to risa kaiming weiyang joe trina and eileen for the loss of their grandpa, got the news this afternoon. Many of our grandparents couldn't pull through this new year. this is like the 3rd wake i attended since 2007 started. oh and again we had supper at the wake, this time round it was the ever famous macdonalds.
It's quite rare that i actually know so many of the family members at any wake, it's usually the case of knowing 1 person of the family, but i guess their family is so close that by knowing one of them, you'll soon get to know the rest of the cousins..

It's valentine's day, and friendship day... so here's wishing everyone out that a wonderful day ahead....

Red Hair for New Year

Chinese new year... new clothes, new hair style... terry got his hair coloured for the first time in his life!! and he chose red to fit the occasion. too bad the violet strips have faded... lak sek .. hahaThis was taken at margaret drive food centre, went there to try our luck for the western food. cos it's always closed, dunno why, guess it's my lucky day.. even won mahjong after dinner but ... kena summon for not putting enuff coupons ... sianzzz...

Pineapple Tarts

It's chinese new year again, all the goodie foodstuffs are coming in. my favourtie are pineapple tarts and bah kwa!! ... my first pineapple tarts for this year are these.Absolutely delicious i must say, i finished the whole tub in just 2 days... where to buy these? ... soory, unavailable, they are made by libing's mum!! libing...when can we go your place? make sure there are still tarts available leh...haha

Haven't started on the bah kwa yet, i know that if i start, i will not stop!! so better start later. cruz has been recommending a stall from amk, i guess i'll drop by one of these days to get some. my personal favourite from past few years is the one from my old place in farrer road.

Monster Money Plant

Dad and mum love to cultivate some plants and flowers at the corridor, everyday you'll see them watering and caring for the little plants. and there's this small little pot of money plant always in a corner . nothing special nothing interesting..... until ....
It started to grow out of the put and it's roots crept along the corridor and started to crawl up the wall, leaves started growing along it's track and the leaves started bevcoming bigger and bigger. now it has almost climbed to the ceiling!!
You should see how big the leaves are! i couldn't even recognise it as a money plant!! i have a monster money plant at home! will it bring me monsterous money luck during cninese new year? huat ah!! huat ah!!

After 2, 3 x 3 Play

Went to an exhibition of inovative furniture design cos yanling has an exhibit there.

She designed and made this prototype some time ago and finally it's out of the store room and has it's chance to see the world. in just a few days, it was sold!! wow.. i guess we have a philip starke in the making right? will be looking out for more wonderful works by this talented designer..

Surprise Party

We have been planning for this party for a couple of weeks, wanted to give meili a big surprise before she leaves for australia.
We bagat with hock soon (meili's dad) to get the keys to her place and started to hide there while those who are with her at that time somehow conned her to go home to get her laptop.. sadly she suspected something fishy and started calling everyone to make sure that nothing out of the ordinary is going on. but we have her dad on our side... muahaha.. before she could put more thoughts into this matter, kenneth had got her to her place. she unlocked the door, walked to the switch and flash!! surprise.... the look on her face when she saw us at her living room was priceless.. you can see the many looks from the photo here...


Got her a cake from lana's and with mingbao's idea, decided on these words, on one look, she knew that it was from mingbao!! ... she know us so well..

After dinner, we decided to take some group photos, and ideas come into our head, or rather my head. we'll have themed poses and we got the following, there are always some black sheeps who are just unable to produce the look on the count of 1 2 3.. hai..

Charity Golf Part 2

In the evening, it was a full course dinner for the golfers and other doners, to wrap up the event. No spectacular photos from the dinner itself, only lots of shots of the vip, the big shots, and the winners for the lucky draw and the tournament, so this time i'll be showcasing little miss snooze!!
After i saw this photo, i was a little shocked, cos she looked so young, can pass as a jc girl, less the handbag in the background. if i didn't remember wrongly, this was a candid shot, snapped on her when she turned around to my side. nice photo, but my fave is not this, there's one more to come..
A band was invited to play for the event, and they were really entertaining! made me recall those good old days where we were playing in the school bands, and performed at events to entertain the guest. they played quite a number of pieces, mostly familiar tunes from some time ago, haha, retro hits!! slow and fast ones.
Lil miss snooze was so mesmerised by the band. all the tunes she liked, one after another made she forgotten about the dinner totally. and yes this is my favourite photo from the dinner, i dun think she knew i took this photo, she's already drifting away with the music.
Gotta post one of andrea de cruz, she volunteered to be the host for the event, wow!! i was still asking leon how much she charges for hosting an event like that, i was shocked when he told me she's doing it for free. and i think we all agreed that she did a wonderful job. and i realised that all celebrity look very much slimmer in person, i couldn't recognise her when i first saw her at the dinner, she was so small sized! ..
Finally, an interesting photo. lil miss snooze using an slr camera. with this photo, we all can see that if you are small in size, you should stick to the compact cameras, because if you use an slr, no one can see the photographer!! ... and this photo didn't feature the railway tracks!!

Charity Golf Part 1

Decided to help leon as a photographer for a charity golf event last thursday at laguna national golf & country club so that i can get myself exposed to bigger events as a photographer. it was totally worth the day and the sun burn after that.

There were 4 photographers in all, leon adele ronald and me, and you can see from their equipment that mine is really nothing. xiao wu jian da wu. only that day i knew that there's such a thing called l lenses, l for luxury!! and you can identify the canon ones by the red ring on the front.. btw, l also stands for less-affordable.
Here are some photos of the day shots... i wanted to choose like my favourite shot to post here, but it's too difficult, cos i dunno how to choose, the photos are all very nice. l lenses are really different. yes i got to use l lenses, thanks to ronald.

I think you would have knows by now that i like this kind of shot, a very focused and sharp subject with a blurred background. love the green in all the photos from the day shots.

Golfers walking to their assigned buggy, it would be nice if they could assign one to me, so that i could drive round the course to take photos. no luck for that, so i endeed up walking instead.

Adele was telling me that it would be nice if we can catch a photo of a golfer getting the ball out of the bunker(i just learned this word), so i kept waiting for the right chance, finally got this one, sadly i couldn't get one from an angle where you can see the face, the sand and the ball.

Man in red: "yes, that was a good one"
Man in purple: (silently to himself) "why is he so happy? the ball didn't get into the hole... duh!"

Q: why are golf clubs so expensive?
A: because they have to be strong enough to support a man's weight.

This guy here is the winner of the tournament, and he's only 19 years old!! can you believe it? how many of us had actually stepped onto a golf course at that age. different people, different life.

Another Wake

At ting's grandma's wake, i received news that hansen's grandma passed away too, so the next day, i went for another wake, had supper there too, this time, no chicken curry. Haven't seen kaisi for so long, she hasn't changed much, but i think she became fairer since she joined sia.. first time she's appearing on my blog too. she saw the peanuts and wanted to relive her childhood days where she "kiap" the peanuts on her face. what an unglam photo for an sq girl.

Curry Chicken for Supper

Tingting's grandma just passed away and we went for the wake. What's so special about this wake is that, although we always say that you will eat curry chicken at a wake, it's actually the first time many of us are eating curry chicken at a wake, cos at most wakes, they decided to not serve curry chicken anymore. Anyway, why eat curry chicken at wakes? nuanda and riendel bought a new car.. and we get to see it for the first time! weekend car for the 2 busy lawyers who will not get to drive to work because of the exorbitant carpark charges in town. new car, remember to buy 4d!!

Another Farewell for Meili

Libing missed the last farewell dinner we had with meili, so we had to organise another one, this time it was dinner at crystal jade.
This dish was ordered, and i was told that the brinjal at crystal jade is different. i should just put the brinjal phopia that i got from saf cook houses during ns times away. true enough, the brinjal taste quite nice, even for someone like me who never wanted to touch brinjal. if there's anyone there like me, go try this dish.
After seeing this photo, it really affirms that libing is not meant to be tanned, he'll have to stay fair forever..
If i'm not wrong, this is the first time little miss snooze is appearing on my blog. but i have quite a few photos of her from another event yet to be posted.. mua ha ha .. it will be up soon ...
Libing's hands seemed to get hairier and hairier, i wonder why? any bio trained people willing to explain this? will it be worse if we pluck out all the hairs .. will it start growing elsewhere on the body? It's only a week away before meili flies off to australia, i guess we'll all miss her ... very much...

My First Godiva

I've heard so much about the ever famous godiva chocolate, finally when i was in town last monday, i decided to go try it to see if it's really that good. the price was really on the very very high side. a piece cost more than $4!! you can actually get a big plate of chap chai peng wit that money you know? haha
I like dark chocolate, so i got some dark chocolate ones, this one is 72% cocoa. there's actually a hard dark chococate coating on the outside and soft praline on the inside. the praline is really smooth and the chocolate is good.. but i feel that with the price tag, i'll still think again if i will want to buy it again. my favourite is still the nama soft chocolate by royce, definitely dark chocolate flavour which is value for money, only $12.90 for 16 pieces...

Eat and Eat

Have been quite a few days since i last posted an entry here. have been very busy this week even at night, lots of phoos queueing up to be posted. next in the line is a gathering with ex colleagues, lawrence regina lengleng and joey..

Dinner was at a japanese restaurant at cuppage plaza called izakaya nijumaru. the place was quite cosy, just that the seats were a little cramp. the setting, the ambience were all very good, waiting time dun seem long because we could chat and the friendly waitress do help a lot when it comes to ordering too because the menu is in japanese. Regina came late bacause of work and she came with a super black face and an empty stomach, and wanted to eat. she chose a hong kong cafe at cineleisure, the xin wang hong kong cafe. spent quite some time here too, looking at the people in the cafe and the people walking past, and gossipping, haha..
Miss black face refused to let me take her face so all i could get was the menu, anyway, her black face will spoil the photo too, so probably this is better.
Tried for quite some time, but i dunno how to comment on this photo, so i better not comment to play safe... haha..

This auntie and uncle was seen standing in front of the neo print shop for a very long time, probably more than half and hour.

To go in and take or not. "hmmm so many kids in the shop, how will they think when they see us in the machine?" "very paisei leh, but i really wanna take" "let's not care so much, just go in" ..... these are all assumed.. in the end we realised that they were waiting for their 2 daughters...

After dinner round 2, it was coffee and tea time, and it's to the ever popular starbucks... we spent 6 hrs together eating and eating, dun get fat also difficult.
